Interior of the restaurant

When I think of brunch, the first thing that pops to mind is usually pancakes, all you can buffet of medium to low quality, or a single delicious dish in those cute cozy places..well, let me tell you my brunch game was in desperate need for an upgrade because I was literally LOST.

Every time I’d call to a high-end restaurant to eat, and they’d say it’s a brunch day I would quickly wrap up the conversation, to go look for some other place. I was just avoiding brunch, as I said before because I was calculating it would be a buffet selection of dishes put up for their convenience lacking all the delicious things I’d like to try.

Until the moment I was too tired to keep searching for a restaurant offering à la carte on that day, I decided to try out CATCH(first time, low hopes), instead: the best decision of my life. 

Catch, for what I could understand its a NY restaurant that re-works American classics and all the trendy options of the “food media” by adding a touch of cool and making them likable even to the more demanding.

For the brunch they make a sort of “degustation” in mini sizes with the favorites of their menu, to share. Its composed of six appetizers (they are all included, no need to limit yourself by choosing), they went from delicious tacos with that touch of avocado fresh lime and coriander that left you wanting more, lobster roll with the softest bun I’ve had in ages.

For the main dish, i went for the fried chicken with waffle, and I wasn’t disappointed, the chicken was very well spiced and exxxtra crunchy (channeled my inner Chrissy T).

The best part, for which i had to take a deep breath as I couldn’t go more, but I couldn’t miss it for the world: the most instagrammable dessert ever, in like XXL size, not only perfect but delicious!!!

My choice changed my life, and gave them a guaranteed visit of mine everytime I can,  because to this date, as im writing this I can still feel the french toast melting in my mouth (foodporn alert, sorry).

My choice definitely changed me FOR LIFE(ok, maybe not but it was too good) and I will for sure be going back for it. It was the French toast with the most amazing toast I’ve had in ages, not hard at all and straight out the oven, the banana was caramelized to perfection: just wonderful.

The worst thing in life for me is having to give up on choosing everything I want to try at a restaurant so people don’t give me the fat look, or the snob look, since I literally just want to try them so this little “degustation” took me to heaven and back, from the options to the quality of the dishes: loved it!
